A newly formed grassroots collaborative in the East End of Pittsburgh was formed to host a series of community forums and "speak-outs" to mobilize residents in the grassroots political process in order to balance disparities in human development in the East End community.  The response from the community was overwhelming.  The group intends to raise voices and take new direct action to improve conditions in the East End of Pittsburgh.

The Coalition for Community and Human Development is determined to provide better options for at-risk youth.  The Coalition's plan is to provide basic education and life skills with job readiness as part of their summer youth employment and placement strategy.
