The Partnership.
The Goal.

A blueprint for inclusive, community-rooted
workforce development.
The Pittsburgh Green Workforce Program connects residents in underserved neighborhoods to jobs in solar, urban forestry, and green infrastructure.
Supported by $1.3M from GitLab Foundation, American Forests, and the EPA, the project will engage 1,000 residents, place 100+ in green jobs, and build a 25+ partner network
citywide.

Why do we need this?
The Economy is Changing. We Need Systems That Will HELP,
Not Hurt Us!
-
400,000+ new jobs annually: The clean energy economy is adding over 400,000 new jobs annually, yet access remains unequal.
-
Unequal Access and Representation: Black, Brown, and justice-impacted workers remain heavily underrepresented in climate and construction careers.
-
Outdated Systems Reinforce Inequality: Disconnected training programs risk leaving our communities behind as the new green economy grows.
Dream.org Track Record
Over 600 green career scholarships have been awarded
More than 500 workers have received training through Dream.Org programs
Graduates have experienced average salary gains of over $50,000
Over 30 BIPOC-owned climate ventures have received support through the Dream Entrepreneurs Network.
What Exactly Is A Green Job?
It’s not just scientists in labs. It’s hands-on work upgrading our neighborhoods.
