Open Letter to City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Public Safety Departments, Prosecutor's Office along with Civilian Review Board
While homicide rates have declined in recent years, many families across Pittsburgh and Allegheny County are still waiting for justice. There are unresolved gun-violence cases, some years, even decades old, that remain unanswered. For the families who lost loved ones, time has not brought healing, only silence.

The Weight of Unresolved Cases
Cold cases represent more than unfinished investigations; they represent lives that still matter. Families deserve transparency, consistent communication, and a visible commitment to accountability. A decline in current violence does not absolve the responsibility to address past harm or to pursue those responsible for taking a life.
Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied
Justice delayed is justice denied. When cases go unresolved, trauma lingers, trust erodes, and communities remain wounded. Addressing cold cases is not only about closure for families, it is about restoring faith in the justice system and affirming that every life is valued.
A Call for Accountability
We call for renewed attention, dedicated resources, and ongoing communication with families whose cases remain unsolved. Our community has waited long enough.
Remembering Those We Lost
Let's not forget the loved ones we lost to gun violence
It's about time
