Community Manifesto & Social Contract
Our Truth!!
From the founding of this nation, democracy has systematically excluded Black people and other marginalized communities. Slavery, Jim Crow, racial terror, mass incarceration, and state-sanctioned violence were not exceptions, they were built into governing systems. Every gain toward freedom has been won through struggle, yet those gains are repeatedly weakened, rolled back, or dismantled by institutions unwilling to confront systemic racism.
This Moment

Today we face an accelerated erosion of civil rights and democratic protections. Voting access is restricted. Inclusion and affirmative action are dismantled. Civil rights enforcement is hollowed out. The Constitution is increasingly used to protect power instead of people. This crisis demands action, not silence.
Our Social Contract
We affirm that:
Human dignity is non-negotiable
Democracy must include those historically denied it
Justice requires structural change, not symbolic reform
Communities most impacted must lead
These commitments bind us to one another.
Our Way Forward
The times require new, creative, and progressive strategies. We commit to community-led organizing, political education, collective care, and disciplined civic action. We reject division and disengagement. Our power lives in our neighborhoods, relationships, and shared responsibility.
Our Call
This is a call to freedom-loving people, residents, youth, elders, workers, faith leaders, healers, and organizers, to reclaim democracy as a living practice.

Together, we defend what remains.
Together, we restore what was dismantled.
Together, we build a democracy rooted in justice, accountability, and shared humanity.
This Is Our Declaration
This is our manifesto.
This is our social contract.
This is our work.
